Ross Scammed Us For Nearly $34k!

On Jan 20, 2023 we entered into a yacht charter contract with William Ross Lysinger for a 7 night sailing trip aboard a Lagoon 52 from Dec 28, 2023 - Jan 4, 2024 for a total cost of $33,120. We made deposits right away and paid for the trip in full per the contract before departure.  The arrangement was that he would charter our vessel and be our captain for the week. In the end we paid him a total of $33,360 via zelle and venmo as he requested. 

We spent all of 2023 extensively communicating with Ross and planning our trip. During the planning process he gave us no question that our trip was real or going to happen. 

The week leading up to the trip we started to wonder if something could be wrong as he had not given us the name of the boat or its location where we would board. Being busy with the holidays and preparing for our trip we didn't think too much of it. 

On Dec 26 we got a text message from him at 6:08am letting us know that our boat charter could not happen due to a major engine mechanical problem and that it could not be fixed and that no other boats were available due to the NYE week.

We started to learn that Ross does this to people and is a serial scammer that takes peoples money, plans extensive vacations and only takes their money with no refund. We learned he did not charter a vessel for us and had been keeping our money all year. 

We have been in touch with a growing list of now 20+ victims that he has done the same to over the years - we have calculated that he has stolen $150,000+ over the past 10 years. 

His wife, Wendy Lennon Lysinger is part of it we’ve learned. She is listed as working as a sales executive for his side business - Blue Moon Yachting - since 2015 and previous victims have sent us messages confirming her involvement as well.

Ross also has a criminal record of judgements, evictions and arrests including an arrest in Sept 2023 for a probation violation. All o this can be easily searched and confirmed in the Beaufort County Database under his name.

This pair needs to be stopped and finally see justice for their malicious actions scamming innocent people and taking their money. 

As all of us victims unite, Law Enforcement is taking interest in our case and we will hopefully finally get this crook behind bars where he belongs!
